Burke Mountain Academy Post Graduate Program

The Burke Mountain Academy Post Graduate program is designed to give elite student-athletes of outstanding character and ability a year following high school graduation to further their athletic careers. Post Graduates at BMA are integrated into the BMA Athletic Program, the Academic Program, and the school community at large. The BMA PG Program runs from the start to school through April, and PGs typically depart campus following their last competition trip of the winter.

Athletics:
Most PGs applicants are at a level where they are legitimate contenders for naming to the World Juniors Team and will have demonstrated leadership in their previous schools and ski programs. PGs participate in all BMA camps, training and competition trips and are incorporated into the appropriate coaching group.

Academics:
Post-Graduates are expected to participate in the Academic Program; we recommend that PGs take between 1 and 3 academic courses with the opportunity to drop all but one during the second semester. There is occasionally opportunity for Post-Graduates to study a subject in-depth independently with a faculty member or to serve as peer tutors or classroom assistants.

Community:
Involvement and leadership in the BMA Community is an important piece of the PG experience. PGs are expected to be leaders on skis, in classrooms, in the dorms and in all aspects of community life. In addition to their academic and athletic commitments, there are countless opportunities to contribute to the school and PGs are encouraged to look for ways to support the program.

Admissions:
Admission to Burke Mountain Academy is extremely selective, and the Post-Graduate class is size limited. If you have interest in the program, please contact the Director of Admissions, Tory Amorello at tamorello@burkemtnacademy.org and see our “Admissions” page to find the application and forms needed to apply. Please note that we have a rolling admissions program and so this tends to benefit the early applicant.
