Nordic Christmas Camp

This coming Christmas vacation Burke Mountain Academy’s Nordic team is offering a unique opportunity to participate in a training camp on the Burke Campus and, for a limited number of young skiers, to attend the first Eastern Cup of the season at Trapp Family Lodge as part of the Burke Team. There couldn’t be a better way to get a window on ski-academy life on the road, as well as a good look at the Burke campus.

The camp is geared for J2’s and J3’s with some experience, though either older or younger skiers may certainly attend. Space is limited to 10 total athletes and the Trapp trip portion is limited to five. The Camp is divided into two sections; the first which includes the trip to Trapp’s, and waxing and coaching help at the races, starts the afternoon of the 19th and finishes at 3PM on the 23rd. The second section is for skiers who are either not racing at Trapp’s, or who would simply like to join us at Burke for  four on-snow sessions and two sessions of strength and training planning. Check in for this camp is Sunday afternoon the 21st and checkout is at 3PM on the 23rd. Cost for the full camp is $375 and for the two-day camp is $275.

Camp emphasis is on technique and for those choosing to join us for the races, race warm-up, and tactics.  Video review of individuals and of the top skiers in the game will occur each evening, along with wax tips, and exposure to various strength training routines. BMA alums, athletes and coaches will all take part in an exciting and inspirational part of your Christmas break.

To apply, download application here and return to Christin Lathrop at BMA by November 4th in order to confirm your place. If you want to do the races with us note “Full Camp” on the application. Spaces on the race trip will be given on a first come first serve basis.
